Richard J Frongillo - Coach Rich
Founder
Coach Rich is a life-long resident of Franklin who has been involved in sports his whole life, playing several sports in their appropriate season from childhood. He started playing soccer in the Franklin Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) and continues to play and enjoy the beautiful game on a weekly basis. Starting as a volunteer in 1989, he found his passion in coaching and planted seeds that led to the establishment of the Franklin Soccer School (FSS) in 2006. He has long been involved in soccer referee development in Massachusetts.
With partner Kevin Sayward, Rich created Downtown Sports which opened to the public in early 2018 to accommodate athletes of a variety of sports in a local venue. Kevin and Rich share the basic notion that mastering technique is the basis for fun, self-esteem, and subsequent opportunities. The mindset that the two specified at the beginning for FSS has been extended to our partners within Downtown Sports.
